What the data says

SOL

Wrapped SOL is the one token on this site that is barely a token at all. SOL itself — the coin that pays for every transaction on Solana — is not an SPL token, so any program that expects the SPL standard works with this wrapper instead: one wSOL always represents one SOL, held in a token account you can unwrap back to native SOL at any moment. When a DEX route, a lending pool, or a liquidity pair says "SOL," this mint — So11111111111111111111111111111111111111112 — is almost always what it means under the hood.

The safety read here is about as clean as the format allows, and for a structural reason rather than a flattering one. As of the October 6, 2026 snapshot both the mint authority and the freeze authority read revoked: nobody can print unbacked wSOL, and nobody can freeze a wallet's balance. That isn't a team making good choices — it's baked into how the wrapper works, which is exactly why wrapped SOL is the reference point other tokens get measured against. The snapshot puts roughly 3.82 million holders on the mint and about $960 million of tracked liquidity, numbers no ordinary SPL token approaches.

USDG

USDG is Paxos's second dollar — the newer stablecoin issued under the same regulated umbrella as PYUSD, but built for the Global Dollar Network, a consortium where the yield on reserves gets shared with the institutions distributing it rather than kept whole by the issuer. On Solana it landed where stablecoins actually move: our October 6, 2026 snapshot shows a market cap of about $670.5 million against 21,226 tracked holders and $41.2 million of on-chain pool liquidity — the deepest profile in this batch, and the reason it grades 100/100.

The honest reading of that grade: a regulated issuer with attested reserves is exactly what the contract side wants, and the distribution deal is why exchanges list it — the incentive that made USDT and USDC entrenched is pointed at growth here. The residual is that "regulated" is a jurisdiction's word for centralized controls: the issuer can freeze balances, and that is a property of the asset, not a defect.

FAQ

Which is bigger, SOL or USDG?

By tracked market cap: SOL (Solana) measures $70.79B and USDG (Solana) measures $670.45M — dated snapshots, not a live feed.

Which is safer, SOL or USDG?

On the contract checks we publish: SOL (Solana) grades A and USDG (Solana) grades A. A grade is a structural check on the contract, not a promise about the asset.

How have SOL and USDG performed over the shared window?

Between 2026-09-08 and 2026-10-17T00:15:22, the measured snapshots show SOL at +1.44% and USDG at −0.01%.

The grade column is the one CMC's compare page cannot print — our grade is computed from the contract itself (mint/freeze authority, liquidity, holder concentration). Changes are measured over the shared window stated on the chart, 2026-09-08→2026-10-17T00:15:22; a token with fewer measured points measures a shorter span inside it.
